Q - Me and my two partners would love to come and stay at the clubhouse for a romantic getaway, is it okay to come if we're not interested in socializing with the other guests?
A - Absolutely, feel free to interact as much or as little as you like.
Q - Are you a political organization?
A - No, and yes. We're a social collective, not a party, and guests with different political beliefs and backgrounds are welcome. That said, if you're a big T-rump, Poilievre or Danielle Smith fan, this probably isn't the club for you. We afirm human rights (immigrant rights), indigenous sovereignty, renewable energy, anti-poverty and an end to big government, big business, extractive industries and the tech broligarchy. We believe in people power.
Q - I'd like to plan a mini-vacation for my family. Does the Clubhouse welcome small children?
A - Yes! We love families of all stripes and welcome people of all ages.
Q - Can I bring my dog with me?
A - If your dog is well behaved and gets along with other dogs (we have a Boxer-mix named Cara in residence) you are welcome to bring your fur baby. Your dog will need to be leashed on the property though, as it's also home to lots of wildlife.
Q - What are some fun things to do in the area if I'm staying with you?
A - People love to visit local wineries, and we can give you recommendations. There are many art galleries and studios. Lots of scenic and historic walks. Window shopping along main street, and a range of dining options, from winery restaurants to cafes and pubs. Also, we're steps from the Shaw Festival Theatre.
Q - I'm just going to be in the Toronto area for a few weeks. Can I come visit and host a 1-day yoga workshop?
A - Yes, please! Members are welcome to host a series of workshops, live or virtually, or a single event. You don't have to be an expert in your field. If you play a musical instrument or know how to use a power tool, come and share! We'll likely even comp your stay. Workshops can be free or you can charge, if this is what you do. We believe in mutual aid: sharing skills, resources, housing, food and solidarity.
Q - Do I need a car to get around the area?
A - If you don't have a car, we can help you arrange a ride-share - or if you're travelling in a group, we can possibly arrange to meet your train or bus. Cycling is a perfect way to get around locally. The Clubhouse has bikes available for your use.
Q - I'm on a budget. Can I cancel my membership when I'm not using it and then get it again when I want?
A - Definitely. Cancel or reapply anytime. We're here for you.
